There is a slide at the base which holds the device from opening all the way (easier for storing) but if you slide the piece it allows the flat iron to open all the way. The instructions inside the box don't explain this part, so at first I thought it didn't open very far, but once I figured this out, it became a breeze to use. Speaking of the instructions, they are listed in English, Spanish, French, and German. (I think... I don't speak/read all of those languages, but I believe that's correct.)
Whether you have particularly curly hair or thick locks, this T3 hair straightener is designed to leave you with a shiny finish in a fraction of the time of other hair straighteners on the market today. Specifically, the T3’s smart SinglePass technology maintains consistent heat throughout the entire plate to straighten all hair types with one glide.
To solve this problem, CHI’s new G2 Ceramic and Titanium Flat Iron features a digital temperature display located right on the outside of the handle. No more knobs or dials, just buttons and electronic displays, and it is intuitive to use! This feature is great for maintaining an exact temperature during styling and also allows users of varying hair types to experience the professional-grade results CHI hair straighteners have delivered for years without the worry of damage or frying!
This iron is one the coolest tool I’ve ever used. It is a beautiful looking straightener with very high technology. With 50% more power and wider plates (1.5″), the T3 SinglePass X is specifically designed to straighten hard-to-manage hair, such as long, thick or coarse hair. Most importantly, it is designed to do the job fast – it straightens in a single glide!

The nano ceramic plates in this straightener deliver far-infrared heat, a gentler alternative in and of itself. As if that weren't enough, there's also a reservoir where you can pour in some of the (included) argan treatment and thermal protectant, creating a conditioning steam that will strengthen and safeguard strands while you straighten. Admittedly an extra step, sure, but one that's well worth it.
